I thoroughly enjoyed my 10 years at the NC State Fair (2007-2016). I met so many folks there – families who would make me “their first stop” each year when they came thru the gates. I had their children making me things, coming for a hug and pictures  – that made my day far more than I made theirs.
Having people drive from many states away – Billy Parrish, S/W Miss. Paulette Pippin, N\W Miss. Serena Rogers S\W Tenn. , Don Thompson and family from Connecticut and all the others that came from so many states to see me. I had 4 folks fly from California, a paleontologist from Utah … it was all just so over whelming. I really hated for it to end, but that last year I was there the “higher-ups” that run the fair had taken me for granted … and with all I went thru for that show – being unappreciated wasn’t gonna work. All things must come to an end.
